This is the strip of metal that welds to inner door sheet metal and holds the bottom edge of the door panel. The Z shaped bottom strip that slips over the bottom of the door panel that is supplied in the door metal band kits slips over this part to keep the lower part of the door panel flush against the door. # 2183 will work on any 1955-1957 classic Chevy.
