This transmission cross member is the best of both worlds, you get a hassle free installation and mega-exhaust clearance. The unique drop design allows oversized exhaust to tuck up high between the frame rails and it's balanced no-weld design makes installation a snap. No need to juggle the crossmember, brackets and transmission at the same time. Just hang the brackets on the frame, put the transmission on the crossmember and hang the crossmember on the brackets. When everything lines up just bolt it down. Danchuk # 14789 will work on any 1955-1957 classic Chevy except convertibles. Works with all GM transmission with the popular two bolt mount.
